Hazards of Permissive Parenting There are some parents who are scared of making their kids feel bad, that it comes to a point they hardly “discipline” their little ones. They do not like the idea that their kids will get upset towards them, so they end up being permissive parents. Unfortunately, permissive parenting does more harm than good to kids. Instead of setting limits and restrictions, this manner of treating your children becomes detrimental to them in the future. They are not able to learn the fact that there are consequences for every incorrect choice they make. Thus, they become irresponsible since they always assume that it is easy to get away with their wrong decisions. Once these children grow up and become adults, it may be difficult to deal with them because of that inability to manage their life or difficulty in making the right choices.

Raising a Spoiled Child

While you may find it difficult to discipline your child, it will get even tougher dealing with him or her later in life. Young kids who are used to getting anything they desire at the expense of another person can cause them to experience failures establishing solid relationships. Making friends with other kinds or getting a healthy romantic relationship in the future maybe very difficult for children once they grow up. The fact that they always get their way for years will transform them into self-centered and selfish adults. Just think about the instability of relationships they get into because they have been used to not giving in since you have always yielded to their whims.

More Disappointments in the Future

Permissive parenting causes children to think that they will always get what they want at all times. Sadly, this is a huge lie since it is never possible for things to always go one’s way. There will always be instances in life when what you want is not likely to be yours, and you just need to accept it. However, for children who are constantly given what they want, they may find it difficult to realize that things will not always turn out the way they hope them to be. Having a strong desire that remains unmet can be very difficult for these children to face in life, and they may become more prone to depression as nothing seems to make them truly happy in life.

Raise a Happy and Purpose-Driven Child

Good parenting is crucial to ensuring the proper development of every child. While it may be difficult for most parents to discipline their children, it is important to realize that it will even be tougher if kids are not given the right direction early in life. What they learn and understand when they are still in their younger years will be carried on once they reach adulthood. Thus, it is important that all the right values are instilled in them, so they will become responsible and mature individuals. Thus, permissive parenting is certainly not the way to go since it causes children to become disillusioned once they grow up, so it is better that they become aware of limitations and the importance of working harmoniously with others.
